Alexandre Aja to Direct Crawl 2 with New Cast and Location

A sequel to the 2019 gator horror film Crawl is officially in the works, with Alexandre Aja set to return as director. Paramount Pictures has announced that Crawl 2 will feature a new cast of characters in a new location, this time set in New York City.

Production for the sequel is expected to begin in Europe this fall, with Aja also serving as a producer alongside Craig Flores and Sam Raimi. The script for Crawl 2 is being penned by Andrew Deutschman and Jason Pagan, known for their work on Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and Project Almanac.

The original Crawl movie followed the story of Haley, played by Kaya Scodelario, who searches for her missing father during a hurricane in Florida. The film was both a critical and commercial success, grossing $91 million on a budget of $15 million. Given the success of the first installment, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Crawl 2.

Stay tuned for more updates on Crawl 2 as production gears up for its start date later this year. With a fresh storyline and new setting, the sequel is sure to bring more gator-filled thrills to audiences around the world.
